History of Kaplan College in Sacramento

Kaplan College, Sacramento campus was founded in 1982 as the California Academy of Merchandising, Art, and Design. Having outgrown its current space and name by 1999, the California Academy of Merchandising, Art, and Design was renamed California College of Technology and relocated to accommodate new programs. In January 2003, California College of Technology changed its name to California College. One year later, in March 2004, the college opened a branch campus in Bakersfield and changed its name to Maric College. In August 2008, the Maric College campuses became Kaplan College.

The Kaplan College Sacramento campus is conveniently situated offering easy access to public transportation and the freeway system.

The campus is located in a rapidly developing business area offering food markets and restaurants within easy walking distance. A few miles away, you will find the area's two largest shopping malls, Arden Fair and Galleria at Roseville, featuring a wide variety of merchandise. Nearby campuses, including California State University and American River College, offer activities and extensive library facilities.
