History of Kaplan College, Lubbock Campus

Texas Careers was founded in November 1989 as Moderncare, Inc., in San Antonio, Texas. Initially established to provide education in allied health fields, Texas Careers expanded program offerings to additional fields through the years. In October 2003, Texas Careers opened its Lubbock, Texas, branch campus and in November 2009, changed its name to Kaplan College.

Our Lubbock campus is conveniently located near Mackenzie State Park and is in close proximity to I-27 and US-84. Lubbock is the 11th largest city in Texas and is nicknamed the "Hub City" since it is the economic, education, and health care hub of the multi-county region commonly referred to as the South Plains.
