Welcome, Financial Services Professionals!
Wealth Management Certificate
What is the Wealth Management Certificate Program?
This American Academy of Financial Management (AAFM) approved course and associated professional designation, Wealth Management Specialist (WMS), is designed
to provide financial advisors and support staff with the fundamentals of wealth accumulation
and management for high-net-worth individuals. It is also the official AAFM online
course for students seeking to obtain the Chartered Wealth Manager (CWM) Board Certification.
Students consider time value of money principles, the measurement of investment risk and return,
the asset allocation process, insurance products in the wealth management process, business ownership
and planning, as well as retirement and estate planning considerations.
At the end of the course, students will be much more comfortable addressing the range of financial issues
confronting high-net-worth individuals as well as those individuals who are aggressively seeking to
grow their wealth. The course also serves as an effective introduction to investments and the broader
profession of personal financial planning.

Your Online Classroom
Discover the benefits of an online education!
Millions of people have chosen to further their education.
Here are a few reasons why:
No commuting: Classes are as near as your computer. If you are
traveling, all you need is a laptop, a place to plug it in, and
Internet access.
Convenience: Complete your work where you want, when you want.
Learn without putting your life on hold. Complete online readings,
exercises, and Web field-trips right from your computer.
Flexibility: Since course materials are available 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week, you can study at your own pace.
Interactivity: Students interact with their professor and
classmates regularly. Many of our students are surprised to find
that they have more opportunity for interaction with students and
instructors at Kaplan University than they have in a traditional classroom.
Equal time: In traditional classrooms, one or two assertive
students often dominate the discussion. At Kaplan University, that
is impossible. On our interactive classroom message boards, all
students have a chance to be heard.
Superb national faculty: The Kaplan University faculty is
chosen based upon their qualifications and teaching skills,
not where they live. The result: talented, dedicated instructors
from around the country.
Challenge: The nature of our program—its flexibility and
convenience—challenges students to be responsible and self-motivated.
